Family home Evening,

Sofia had her family home evening last week, and decided to talk about 'I am a child of God'. We discussed how we all lived in the Spirit world with heavenly father before we came here, and that we thus have Heavenly parents as well as earthly parents. She told us that Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to choose the right so we can be happy. She told us that everyone is a child of God, and that He loves us all, and that we are all special, and that we thus need to be nice to others. We sang the song 'I am a child of God' and they colored some pictures. It is all based on the new nursery manual, which is absolutely marvelous! It was a great lesson, and it greatly contributes to their self-confidence and leading skills I think. Sofia got herself a chair to sit on while 'teaching' as her teacher, Mrs. Plaisance, teaches like that! Lilian was in charge yesterday adn chose 'Follow the prophet'. She also chose the chair to teach from which greatly imporved her nerves and teaching was without waving arms this time, she was so much more confident! She told us that prophets tell us what heavenly father wants us to do, and that we can make good choices by following the prophet and be happy. She asked us who was the first prophet (Sofia said Adam) and told us that the first prophet of the country (she mixed up prophet with president as we call the current prophet also the president of our church) was George Washington. Cute! The she held up a picture of Joseph Smith and told us he restored the Gospel and gave us the Book of mormon! She closed by testifying that 'I will be happy if I follow the prophet because he helps me choose the right'. As activity we played 'The prophet says' (Simon says). It was a lot of fun, and she was so proud of herself! I love giving them turns and learning from them, and the Spirit is so much stronger when a child teaches too! Great job, girls!
