Mini-Boefje

Mini-Boefje, .... he is so special, so sweet, so calm, so funny, so happy, has funny little and puffy eyes, and many cute dimples in his you are still mad at him, such that being mad is really out of the question! cheeks. He loves to laugh, tries to melt your herat with his sweet smile, when you get mad at him, smiles bigger when you are still mad at him, has a cute pouting lip when you still (pretend to be) mad at him, and starts sobbing when you still have a frown (fake by now ofcourse) on your forehead. We all love and adore him! What a  treasure!

Zoo .... Again

As a Dutch person, you really try to make sure that you take advantage of all the free stuff you can get. Since the zoo membership pretty much means we have 364 free days per year (minus the zoo-holidays), we try to go as many of those days as we can. So this year we have probably been like 15 times. Luckily, the kids haven't grown tired of it yet, especially when I let them  get an icee or go on a carroussel/train/??? ride (yes, even the 9-yr-olds!).

I personnally love going to the zoo: it is outdoors, you get some 'excercise', you can learn and teach some new things, Mini-Boefje does his 'ooohs and aaahhhhs' (very cute), we can have a picknick and we get to be together. What more does one need?

Valentine's Day Craft Time

Valentine's Day, who doesn't love it? We do! We made it a special day for our family to express how much we love eachother and made some fun cards to do so! Happy Valentine's Day my 5 very very Spcial ones!

Airplane Ride!

One of Josh' colleagues owns a small 4-seater Cessna 172 airplane, and was super nice to fly to Peachtree city to take some of us for a ride. He even took his car-seat such that Jasper could go as well! What excitement! Josh went first with Jasper and Lilian, who were able to listen to all the interactions of the pilot with the tower and other pilots. They told me they looooooved it and even flew over poppy's and oma Becky's house, and noticed for the first time that they lived next to two huge lakes! :)

I played with Espen at the little playpark, which was just as much fun. I hadn't counted on flying at all, but sure felt priviliged to be able to go the second round! Jasper stayed adn Sofia joined instead of Lilian. It was fun to be in such a little airplane again, my last time was in 1996 when I took my exam, hahhah! The pilot let me 'co-pilot' and help land the airplane, even with my awful memory and after 16 years, I still felt I could remember most of it (or maybe he just made me feel good and pretended I was doing most, while in the mean time he was struggling against me to get the airplane pointing in the right direction :) ). Either way, it was soooooo fun. I was tempted to try to renew my license and start flying for fun again. That lasted for about 1 second, after which I reminded myself of the cost and the utmost lowest of lowest position on the priority list. :( Bummer! I wish I weren't so thrifty sometimes, darn Dutch roots! :)

Rockbridge

Rockbridge, what a fun place. We heard about it from Lilian and Sofia's friend, Parker, who had her birthday party there. We then ordered tickets through groupon or livingsocials. Whata  fun place: rock climbing, a bungy-cords with a trampoline, 'Wipe-out' on the x-box kinect, an inflatable slide... etc. So fun. We all went as a family, and even Boefje got to do the climbing wall and the bungy cords. The girls like to be high up and then do as many flips in a row as they can. We love this as a family outing, soon to be used again!
