Baby Jasper Arrived

On November 13, another Heaven sent miracle came into our lives: Jasper David Jewkes was born at 19:17, weighing 8 pounds, 10.6 oz (3930 g), and at 21 1/2 inches (54 1/2 cm) tall. He was induced to come that day, and it only took 10 1/2 hrs this time. He was placed on my belly immediately after he was born, which was the most beautiful and undescribable moment of bonding: I am hooked for life!

He is so sweet, nurses very well and sleeps from feeding to feeding. We're not sure who he looks like most, somewhere inbetween Lilian and Sofia, or maybe more like my dad. He does have somewhat strawberry blond hair (lots) and I believe he will have brown eyes, although it is still too early to tell. Either way, no way any boy has ever been loved more, and Sofia and Lilian have been so proud and helpful with him too.

Jewkes Family Reunion

Father's Day was celebrated in Breckenridge, CO, with Josh's family consisting of 10 siblings with spouses, parents, grandma, and 19 little ones. We stayed in a beautiful 10 bedroom cabin which was perfect for everyone, which was located next to a river in the mountains. Although the river was a little scary at times, it provided for a lot of fun and tasty fish. The cousins all played together as if they'd grown up together, a wonderful sight, and the adults had some adult fun and valuable discussions in the evenings. On top of that most went running, biking down from the summit WITH babies/toddlers in trailers, some got to go white-water rafting and some went ice-skating. The complete family participated in one evening of kickball which was fun for all. It was another family reunion success.

During the week prior to Father's Day, my friend Ruthie took the girls' pictures as a (very original and yearly) present for Father's day. The girls were done after about 5 minutes, but Ruthie managed to get some wonderful pictures anyway. here are some of my favorites of Sofia and Lilian separately.

Josh and I met in Gothenburg Sweden, where he was a missionary for our church and I was investigating that same church. He baptized me, and 1 1/2 years later, we got married in the Salt Lake City Temple.

We have two beautiful twin girls, Sofia and lilian, who were born in Naperville, IL, and who will turn 5 on July 10th. They are very very very active girls, or monkeys , which inspired the blog address.
