Tennis

The girls got some foam balls for Christmas that are often used to teach tennis to little kids. We decided to use them last week and see how that worked out. We had almost an hour of tennis fun! First we did the line race game, where I (and later they) would call out the name of the line and they had to try to get there first. they are not that familiar with the lines yet, so I would trick them adn go to the wrong line, which they later did too. They loved it! We then practiced volleys with the normal tennis balls, which they managed to hit most of the time (depending more on my throwing skills than their hitting skills sometimes :) ), and then we moved to the normal (for Silvester: basis 1!!!) forehand stroke, with the ball bouncing first. For the latter we used the foam balls. I was really happily surprised how well they mananged, as the foam balls are slower it was easier for them to hit the balls and accomplish a good hit. It definitely contributed greatly to the fun! I hope to be able to do this with them on a weekly basis?!?!?!?!
