Family home Evening with Sofia's Lesson

On monday we usually try to have Family Home Evening, where we get together as a family, and have a little lesson/story/discussion that involves a principle of the gospel. This past monday (1/26/09) we decided to ask the girls to be in charge. Lilian was in charge of songs and prayer, while Sofia was in charge of the lesson. She chose to talk about 'the Holy Ghost Helps Me', and did such a great job. She mainly taught by asking questions and making sure the answers were right (Lilian asnwered 99% of the questions). She asked who were part of the Godhead (Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the holy Ghost), who is the Son of God (Jesus), who is the holy ghost (part of the godhead who testifies of Christ and is a Spirit). She asked how long ago jesus was born (2008 yrs), and what he did for us (he died for us, so we can live with heavenly father again) and why (because he loves us), and then she asked what the Holy Ghost does for us (he testifies of Jesus, tells us what is truth, and helps us make good decisions), and how we know when the Holy Ghost tells us the truth (we can feel good in our hearts). Then she bore her testimony simply by saying that the Holy Ghost helped her because He helped her make good decisions. It was a very good lesson, and because it was so sweet, simple and from a child's heart (she prepared for about 30 seconds), we could all feel the holy ghost. We were very very proud of her!
