Our little baby boy wasactually quite big: 21 1/2 inches long (54 1/2 cm) and weighed 8# 10.6 oz (3930 g). He was born in perfect health with quite a bit of reddish hair. josh thought immediately that he looked quite a bit like my dad.
As soon as he was out, the nurse placed his sweet baby body on me even while he was still connected to the umbilical cord. It was a very touching, sweet, special bonding moment. We loved him so much immediately, it is hard to imagine how we ever lived without him! What a special boy. He was very very sleepy the first couple of days and nurses like a pro, what joy.
Josh was smitten with him immediately too, what an extra special miracle to have a baby boy too. Thank you so very much Dr. Sherbahn and everyone to make this miracle happen, as well as the miracle girls that we have!
My mom brought in the girls as soon as I was put back together. It was such a special and emotional moment to have my three children together for the first time. The girls were really happy and excited too; Sofia said immediately 'aaaw, I love him', and lilian said 'he is sooooo cute'. Lilian was kind of sad that the baby wasn't a girl, but once she saw him, she said that she wouldn't have minded if she'd known he was so sweet and cute.
My mom started to cry too as she thought he was the sweetest little boy, I truly think she fell in love with him! For the Dutch: 'wat 'n mooi kereltje'. My dad just stared in awe at him. Jasper is the first boy in my side of the family.
Josh' parents were so excited for us too as it had appeared we were going to be a family of 4.
