As we had planned to go on a roadtrip to Utah for the summer, we really didn't want to drive to Florida for a few days of beach. As that kids were really excited about the beach though, we decided to stay closer to home and go to Callaway Gardens. They have beautiful gardens, a nice trail to bike and walk on, a butterfly house, a beach at a nice lake with fountains, they even had a circus performance going. The most special part was this island made inflatables.
The inflatables were so fun, chasing eachother, falling and jumping and sliding in the water, swimming a lot, running around on the inflatables and falling off, climbing up the wall and falling back in the water. and especially doing all these fun things with all of the kids. Even Espen went and would slide down and go under the water. He just likes to do what all the others like, and they in return love it more because mini-boefje loves it so much. I am so happt how much the kids love eachother (wehn they are not fighting of course! :))
I normally don't really care that much for the beach, unless we swim or walk a lot, just can't really sit still. I love waves, but not really the enormous amount of salt in the ocean. So the beach at the lake with all the fun activities was perfect for me!
We swam and chased eachother a lot, a perfect way of entertaining orselves in our family.
The flowers were amazing and the kids relaly loved the butterfly house, especially once they had some butterfleis on their hands. I would definitely recommend this for anyone. We would go again in a heartbeat, except we now live 2,000 miles away!
