Children's bedrooms

It was time to make at least some changes to the girls' room and Jasper's room. After more than 2 years of horse-pictures from a calendar taped to the walls, we figured even the girls were tired of them. I made a little 'carroussel' from insulation foam, inspired by the First Presbyterian bible camp decorations from 2008. As the girls are into fantasy with princesses and unicorns, the carroussel has a princess (thanks to Josh), a castle, and a unicorn. Anyway, some other decorations were due too, and now all we have to do is paint the walls some fun kids-color. That might even happen before they leave for college! :)

Snow Snow Snow in Atlanta!

Who would have ever thought that? I had just told the girls last week when it was 75 degrees F (24 C) that this year we would not have any snow, when today it started snowing A LOT! We had quite a bit of snow today and the girls will not have school tomorrow because of it.

We all built a snowman, went sledding on a garbage bag and had a snowball fight. Some pics and some videos of the sledding.

Our 3 Miracle Blessings

Tjonkje is losing his hair, but is still as cute and sweet as ever. He is on a great 4 hr 'schedule' and has been sleeping through the night. While he is awake (for about 2-2 1/2 hrs at a time) he likes to look at books, listen to songs, have his feet rubbed, get tickled, go for a walk or a ride in the golf-cart (in the baby-bjorn)or stroller, kick under the 'chorus gym' in the bouncy seat (thanks Emily for letting me use that again) or watch the mobile go round and round, or 'read' his crispy book which he can now hold himslef (it even looks like he turns the pages himself). He's also been swimming in the Kedron pool with his big sisters and me which he loved too.

yesterday it was beautiful outside and the girls and 5 friends were jumping on the trampoline and let Jasper join them (I kind of let him bounce on his feet on the trampoline). He loved it and was really giggling. So sweet!

Glamour Night at School

Due to a bookfair at school, the staff organized a glamour night for the kids to increase interest in the fair. They were to dress up glamourously and had some games at school. The girls were really looking forward to it, so we painted nails, curled hair (which was completely useless as it was pouring) and dressed up complete with sunglasses and lots of necklaces and bracelets and even some glitter make-up. I thought they looked pretty cute and had just the matching attitude on the picture. The school fair was fun for them with a chair dance and karaoke (which they didn't participate in unfortunately; Sofia considered singing 'who let the dogs out' which would have been really funny), but way too much chaos for me! I am so glad these evenings only happen like 2x/year.

A Special Breakfast

The girls had winter break last week, so one morning we took the time to make pancakes for breakfast. While I finished up the pancakes, the girls set the table and made it look like a nice restaurant setting with the utensils nicely wrapped in napkins, a lantarn and a big bow on the syrup. They put a lot of effort in making it look special and were very proud of themselves! Whata special treat! Sweet little ladies.

Valentine's day Party

The girls had their Valentine's day party at school on February 13th (Happy anniversary Dave and Jessica) which was a lot of fun. They got some cute cards and some yummy candy (how would I know?) and had some cute games, including limbo. Here some pictures and a funny video.
